March Monthly Noon Luncheon

Peggy Cenova

Thank you to Grace United Methodist Church for hosting our monthly luncheon. We had a delicious meal and three wonderful speakers. Ron Branson, Pastor of Grace Methodist Church. Kay Schrope, Imagination Library, and Peggy Cenova with Indiana Small Business Development Center. Peggy shared some very useful information for small business owners. I have posted some of that information below.

Thank you all for coming and being such a huge support system in our community.

The East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center helps businesses Start, Grow, and Flourish in Blackford County. We do this by offering:

·        Confidential, One-on-One, Business Consulting

·        Market Research

·        Financial Diagnostics/Benchmarking

·        Operations Assessments

·        Business Plan Writing Assistance

·        Loan Packaging Assistance

·        Live Workshops and Seminars

·        Strategic Planning

Statewide we prescribe to services that provide demographic information that reports information about the area where you own or propose to own a business. This data would include how many people live in the area, what the average income is in the area, and where that disposable income is spent. In addition research on the particular business category is rich with what is happening in your particular industry and what is projected for changes in that industry in the near future.

We provide business start-up advice in the form of creating pro-forma financial projections and the narrative of a business plan.

We also offer live workshops, and the next one scheduled for Blackford County is April 11th at the Economic Development office in Hartford City. It is “Don’t Be Afraid of your Numbers” and will run from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. There is no fee for the event, but pre-registration at is requested.
